The Republic Day celebration at G.D. Goenka Public School, Mahanagar, Lucknow, was a grand and inspiring event filled with patriotism, unity, and cultural pride. The enthusiastic participation of parents added warmth and encouragement, making the occasion truly special.
The event began with the ceremonial flag hoisting by the school’s Director, Ms. Neha Goel, Principal, Ms. Prerna Mitra, and Headmistress, Ms. Shaily Dawra. The tricolor fluttered proudly as the National Anthem echoed across the grounds, filling every heart with pride and devotion. A solemn prayer and the pledge, led by Class 4 students, reinforced the core values of unity, responsibility, and respect for the nation.
The youngest participants, from Toddler, Nursery, LKG, and UKG, captured everyone’s hearts with their adorable fancy dress performances as freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Their heartfelt tributes to these national heroes were both inspiring and delightful.
Class 1 students conducted an engaging session on India’s national symbols, including the national tree, river, and flower, fostering a deeper appreciation for the country’s rich heritage. Students of Class 2 explained the significance of the Preamble, highlighting its role as the guiding principle of the Indian Constitution and emphasizing the values of justice, equality, and liberty.
The students of Class 3 then presented an insightful act on Fundamental Rights, inspiring everyone to embrace the rights granted to them by the Constitution and to uphold the values of justice, liberty, and equality.
Following this, parents brought a vibrant touch to the celebration by performing spirited patriotic songs, creating an atmosphere of joy and unity. A soulful instrumental performance by Shivay Agarwal of Class 1 and Reyansh Srivastava of Class 2 followed, adding a poignant and inspiring moment to the event. The students from Classe 4 then presented speeches on Fundamental Duties, reminding everyone of the responsibility they bear as citizens to uphold the principles of justice, equality, and fraternity. Students from class 1-4 entertained the audience with a captivating dance performance on a patriotic medley, leaving the audience enthralled.
In her address, the school’s Director, Ms. Neha Goel, emphasized the importance of preserving cultural values in today’s rapidly changing world. She urged the youth to stay rooted in their rich heritage, respect traditions, and balance modernity with cultural pride. She highlighted how cultural values form the foundation of a strong society and help shape a nation’s character.
Principal Ms. Prerna Mitra urged students to embody the spirit of the nation, reminding them that a united and responsible youth is the backbone of a prosperous India. Headmistress Ms. Shaily Dawra inspired students to take pride in their responsibilities as citizens, encouraging them to become positive change-makers.
The celebration beautifully combined education, culture, and patriotism, reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing future leaders with strong values.
