Gandhi Jayanti Celebration at GD Goenka Public School

On October 1, 2024, GD Goenka Public School, Mahanagar, commemorated Gandhi Jayanti with great fervor and enthusiasm. The special assembly, conducted by grade 2 students, was a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s life and legacy. The Gandhi Jayanti celebration at GD Goenka Public School, Mahanagar, was a testament to the school’s dedication to inculcating values and promoting social awareness among its students.

The young participants shared fascinating facts about Gandhi ji’s childhood and his non-violent resistance against British rule. They also explained the significance of Gandhi ji’s three monkeys – Mizaru (see no evil), Kikazaru (hear no evil), and Iwazaru (speak no evil) – emphasizing the importance of avoiding evil thoughts, words, and actions.

Children were also made aware of the importance of the Spinning Wheel ( Charkha) which Gandhiji used to weave his own clothes and thus inspire the Swadeshi Movement against the British Rule.

Through a poignant presentation, the students showcased Gandhi ji’s philosophy of non-violence, truth, and simplicity. They encouraged their peers to adopt these values in their daily lives.

The students pledged to follow Gandhi ji’s principles and strive for a more harmonious and peaceful society.

“Gandhi Ji’s teachings are timeless and universal. As future citizens, it’s essential for our students to understand and embody his values. Today’s celebration serves as a reminder of our commitment to peace, harmony, and social responsibility.”
